for 3000 years the nazar amulet was first used in egypt. the god osiris was believed to be the owner of it's protective powers. It became known as the benevolent eye. in modern times it's mistakenly called the evil eye, because of what it protects us from.
there are three different types of evil eyes: 🧿
the first are unconscious evil eyes which can harm people and things, without any intention to hurt anyone.
the second type is done with the intention to harm.
the third type is the hidden evil eye which is the scariest one.
the evil eye mal de ojo, nazar or greek matiasma is a curse believed to be cast by a malevolent glare, which is usually directed towards a person who is unaware. many cultures believe that receiving an evil eye will cause one misfortune, bad luck, or injury.
mal de ojo jewelry and talismans were created to protect against the evil eye.
here's the kicker, most forms of the evil eye come in the form of a compliment.
in the same sense I created this NFT art.
blue: the traditional color for good karma, positive energies, and protection against the evil eye.
light blue: color of the sky – symbolizes truth and therefore it provides direct protection against the evil eye.
